Uncle-Denver Restaurant Review

Going to a ramen restaurant in Denver is not usually at the top of my mind, but a friend with good taste recommended I try Uncle and order the Spicy Chicken. There are two Denver locations, one in the Highlands which I tried and one in West Wash Park.

The Highlands location at 2215 W 32nd Ave. does not accept reservations. I was lucky when I arrived and got a seat at the bar. The place was vibrant and hopping with activity. From the bar, I was able to observe the guys creating dishes like a well-oiled machine. I ordered a cocktail called the Pile Driver, and it was one of the best cocktails I have ever had!

I ordered the Spicy Chicken Ramen, which consisted of chicken and pork with spicy sesame broth, seared confit chicken, bean sprouts, soft poached egg, sesame seeds, and scallion. I was a bit nervous about the spice, so I asked for it on the side and gradually added more as my confidence grew that I could handle it. I thought it was delicious!

The other location in West Wash Park is located at 95 S Pennsylvania St. Most seating is reserved for walk-ins. Both locations open at 5:00 pm for dinner and takeout and are closed on Sundays. They seem to have a robust take-out business.

As I watched orders coming out, I realized I will have to return to try other dishes that looked great. I am now a fan of Uncle! Order takeout or find out more about Uncle at uncleramen.com
